Google Meet offers a standalone, Progressive Web App. You can download the App in either Chrome or Edge. That will provide you with an experience close to what you have in Zoom. To download and install this app, navigate to the website http://meet.google.com .

Select the install icon on the top right of your browser (in the URL bar).

Select “Install” on the popup window and follow any additional installation instructions.
