How to Apply Appearance Filters

Like Zoom, Google Meet offers appearance filters. This short guide will cover how to access these filters and apply them to your video.

If you would like to apply a background blur or image before the meeting starts, click on the Backgrounds and Effects button at the bottom right of your image preview.

From your meeting, click the up arrow next to the left of the video icon.

Select the “Background and Appearance” Icon.

Select the “Appearance” in the popup menu that appears on the right of your meeting.

Select the Appearance filter you would like to use:

Adjust video lighting
Portrait touch-up
Framing
Styles (Greyscale, Cloudy Day, Sunny Day, or Moonlight).
