Waiting Rooms

Google Meet introduced the Waiting Room Feature in November of 2025. This article will overview how to enable a Waiting Room when creating a meeting.

Please note, this feature must be configured when creating an event with your Google Calendar. 

Navigate to your Google Calendar and create a Meeting. After you have associated a Google Meet link, select Video Call Options (the gear wheel icon).

Select "Waiting room" from the left menu on the new popup window.

You can toggle the Waiting Room on or off. If toggled on, you can select if you would like participants to automatically join once the host does.
